Heres a preview pic of one of part of one the sketches I did for the Eclectic Mics Sketchbook which myself, Byrne, Mooney, Thompson, Roche and Shalev are all drawing pieces for. Six pieces each to be exact with a jam piece for the cover

Cheers Rich.
Kevin this piece had a strange process to it. What you see there is all pencil and pen ink straight onto paper, but in the plotting stage I used a texture map I had previously created on a 3D model and took several renders for referance of how the light would hit it

Cheers Kevin. I wont lie, 3D takes a lot of hard work to get into. (Not quite as much as comics but a lot none the less)
To start off man if you want to do 3d comic book characters I'd highly recommend doing this tutorial
